Alameda County CCW Training

Gun Kraft provides CCW training for students applying through Alameda County.

When Can You Train

Do not take your new applicant CCW training until you've been approved. They will reject any training completed before approval. You must take your renewal CCW training before submitting your renewal application. Our classes meet the training requirements of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Allowed Pistols and Modifications

You may list up to three firearms on your permit. You may add a pistol-mounted optic or weaponlight. No other modifications or attachments are allowed.

Holsters

Holster draw is part of the qualification, so bring a proper holster.

Range Qualification

  • You must qualify with each firearm you list on your CCW
  • Passing score is 70% (35 of 50 rounds) inside an IDPA size silhouette
  • Private coaching is available if you have difficulty meeting the requirements

Ammunition

New Applicants:

  • 100 rounds for qualification per pistol
  • 200 rounds for training

Example:

  • Two pistols (same caliber): 400 rounds total
  • Two pistols (different calibers): 100 rounds for one, 300 for the other

Renewals:

  • 100 rounds for qualification per pistol
